Research peptide procurement should connect the laboratory’s requirements with the evidence for the batch received. Neither a supplier’s reputation nor a certificate alone establishes suitability for an experiment. These materials are for research only, not human consumption or therapeutic human or veterinary use.
Define requirements before selecting a supplier
Specify the identity and analytical information the project needs. Ask suppliers for batch documentation before payment and check that their contact details and enquiry process are clear. A particular messaging platform or published address is not, by itself, evidence of analytical quality.
Review the batch record
Look for a COA linked to the supplied lot, supported by interpretable HPLC reporting and identity evidence such as mass spectrometry. Where relevant to the specification, assess moisture, acetate content and appearance records.
No universal chromatographic purity threshold establishes a material’s grade or suitability. Missing records and generic certificates require clarification rather than assumptions.
Establish transport requirements
Packaging and temperature controls should reflect documented material requirements. Do not assume that lyophilised material tolerates every ambient route or that an ice pack establishes stability. Orders are dispatched from Germany, the USA or China, with delivery taking 5–18 business days from tracking.
Check receipt before research use
Match labels and packing records to the COA, inspect packaging and record discrepancies. Any analytical verification should use methods appropriate to the research question; a quick UV-visible or HPLC check alone cannot conclusively establish identity and agreement with every certificate result.
Keep ordering tools in their place
Use the peptide catalogue for initial browsing and the peptide discovery quiz as a navigation aid, not analytical validation. The laboratory reconstitution background is separate educational context. Procurement decisions should remain grounded in the specification, batch evidence and documented receipt checks.
