What is Adipotide?

Adipotide is a peptidomimetic built from an adipose-vasculature homing motif linked to a proapoptotic sequence. In published preclinical literature it is used to study the dependence of white adipose tissue on its capillary bed rather than as a metabolic-hormone analogue.

Mechanism of action

Targets prohibitin on white adipose vasculature and triggers apoptosis of the supporting capillary network in laboratory models.
