MK-677 (ibutamoren) is an orally active, non-peptide small-molecule agonist of the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a), first described in the 1990s. Although not a peptide, it is studied alongside growth-hormone secretagogue peptides such as ipamorelin, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 because it acts on the same receptor.
