GHRP-2: expanded research context

GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone-releasing peptide that acts on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). It is among the most potent of the first-generation GHRPs and has been used in Japan as a diagnostic agent for GH deficiency testing.

In research settings GHRP-2 is used to study GH pulsatility, synergy with GHRH analogues such as CJC-1295, and its secondary effects on cortisol, prolactin and appetite signalling — effects that distinguish it from the more selective ipamorelin.
