Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino-acid acetylated peptide originally isolated from thymosin fraction 5 of calf thymus by Allan Goldstein's group. A synthetic version, thymalfasin, has been approved in a number of countries outside the US and EU.

It is a core reference peptide in immunology research, studied for its effects on T-cell maturation, dendritic-cell function and Toll-like-receptor signalling, and as an adjunct in vaccine-response and infectious-disease research models.
